Volcanic operates out of What’s Up Gymnastics, located at 94-423 Uke’e Street, Waipio, HI 96797 (conveniently located right next to 7-11). We have over 3,000 square feet of pure climbing heaven, with something to climb for all ages and skill levels..
Compared to places like California, the amount of climbable surfaces in Hawaii is depressingly apparent. The climbing community in Hawaii has been clamoring for a gym for quite some time, and we hope to provide a gym for climbers to train hard and have fun.
Some of the most thrilling and challenging climbs are on volcanic rock, and because of the island’s volcanic history, the dream of Volcanic Rock Gym was formed.
Volcanic features a large top-out boulder with a generous roof overhang, as well as traversing walls, crack climbing, and top-rope routes. We also have a full on bouldering cave and tunnel, with everything inside being totally climbable. The cave leads out into the gym with a serious overhand, which makes for some pretty crazy climbs!
Our goal at Volcanic is to provide Hawaii a safe and exciting indoor climbing experience while stimulating and challenging the growing climbing community.
